Class is represented in many different ways within the media, and is often shown in either a negative or positive way. The Royle Family for example, represents the lower class in a very negative way. This representation is comical for many viewers, although shows the lower class in a very stereotypical way. The lower class family are often stereotyped as not working a lot and often living off incoming benefits. This is often shown in the show as many of the family members do not work. Overall, the Royle family is a good example for showing the negative portrayal of the working and lower class in the media.
